Celebrate the Season

November 12, 2020

Welcome to my blog! I thought I would sneak in another post regarding a few cards I just made.

Challenges, challenges and challenges!

Today’s card features the Itty Bitty Christmas sentiment stamp set along with the Tree Angle stamp set.  I have created this card for the Global Design Project sketch challenge #266 in the colors (Poppy Parade, Just Jade, Shaded Spruce and Gray Granite) suggested by the current Colour INKspiration #89 Challenge for the All About Occasions #297 theme challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday.  Christmas, it is!

I created a water color washes in Just Jade and Poppy Parade on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. I stamped the chosen trees from Tree Angle on to the completed and dried watercolor wash.  Cherry Cobbler on the Poppy Parade and Just Jade on the Just Jade.  The trees were cut with the Stitched Triangle Dies.  I added a few Snowflakes from Curvy Christmas for interest on the Just Jade In-Color DSP panel and added Basic Rhinestone Jewels to the snowflakes and the tree tops for some bling.

Following the sketch outline:

  • Card Base:  Just Jade 8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored @ 4 ¼”
  • Mat (1): In Good Taste DSP               5 ¼” x 4”
  • Mat (2): Poppy Parade                       3 ¾” x 3 ⅝”
  • Mat (3): Just Jade In-Color DSP        4 ¼” x 2 ¾”
  • Label: Shaded Spruce:                       1 ¾” x 3 ¼”, Stitched Nested Label Die, trimmed
  • Strip: In Good Taste DSP                   2 ½” x ½”, Stitched Rectangle Die

Good News: This card received honorable mention for the All Occasions – WWC297 Challenge. What fun!

On this go around with the Colour INKspiration challenge, I could not get past the Christmas influence of the image.  Taking it more literally, I created an additional card with Poinsettias.  I chose a retired stamp set: Reason for the Season, because I do not have the very lovely Poinsettia Petals.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me. Cheers, Jolanda
